This volume appears on the occasion of an extensive retrospective exhibition on the architecture of Carme Pinós, curated by Luis Fernández-Galiano at Museo ICO. Considered a major figure in contemporary Spanish architecture, Pinós began her career in the 1980s together with Enric Miralles, and eight of their joint projects are also featured. She went on to establish her own studio in 1991 and is still active today. From this latter period, 80 projects have been assembled and presented here in detail. Her strong belief in the necessity to embrace the environment, whether natural or urban, can be seen as a guiding principle in her diverse work, which constantly seeks to beautify the context.
